Can't name them all. So many amazing directors passed away, from Elia Kazan to Sydney Pollack, from Michelangelo Antonioni to Russ Meyer, we'll never forget Anthony Minghella and Ted Demme, Robert Wise, Howard Zieff, Stanley Kramer, Robert Mulligan, John Frankenheimer, Fons Rademakers. In the actors department we lost a complete generation and many more: Charlton Heston, Paul Newman, Jack Palance, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Anthony Quinn, Alec Guinness, the list is endless and very, very impressive. Shelly Winters, Estelle Getty, Peter Ustinov, Karl Malden, Michelle Serrault, Ulrich Mühe, Gregory Peck, James Coburn, Richard Harris, Rod Steiger, Roy Scheider, Lloyd Bridges, Rodney Dangerfield, Dudley Moore, Dom DeLuise, Bernie Mac, Cyd Charisse, Anita Page, Bettie Page, Deborah Kerr, Farrah Fawcett, Lucy Gordon, Natasha Richardson, Richard Farnsworth, Isaac Hayes, Guillaume Depardieu... Also, let's not forget Ken Kesey, Michael Crichton, Robert Ludlum, Douglas Adams, Arthur C. Clarke, Hunter S. Thompson, J.G. Ballard, Elmer Bernstein, Maurice Jarre, Pauline Kael, Jo Röpcke, William Hanna, Joseph Barbera, Roy Disney. And I'm sure I'm missing many great ones here. Highly personal, these deaths stunned me:
